What do people mean when they say, “My disability does not define me”? Is
it because they don’t like being labeled, or is it more than that?
In recognition of October being both Blindness Awareness Month (BAM) and
National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) this month’s panel
includes three individuals who will share their journey towards career
success from the perspective of being talented people who happen to also be
blind, deaf-blind and visually impaired. Their presentations will be
followed by representatives from two organizations who will provide
information on work-readiness and employment resources that are of value to
all.
*Host: Krystle Allen*, CBVI Community Outreach Specialist
*Guest Panelists: *
*Ida Behreini, *Software Engineer, JP Morgan Chase
*Sherlock Washington, *Founder and CEO, SW Unlimited LLC
*Steven McCoy, *Founder and CEO, Spoken Entertainment
*Beatrice Baldwin, *Sr. Vice President, Goodwill Industries of NY/NJ
*Loraimy Kendall, *Director of Programs & Workforce Development, Dress For
Success
