Additional 45th state convention details:

*We have a national rep: *I am excited to announce Patti Chang will be  our
National Rep for our 45th Annual State Convention; Live the Life You Want;
We Are More Than The Sum Of One" being held virtually from Wednesday,
November 10 through Saturday, November 13. Patti and I have a call
scheduled for next week; stay tuned for additional details.

*Registration is free and now open to all! *Here is your chance to
participate and learn more about the NFB’s programs and goals on the state
and national level. Hear from the NFB national rep Patti Chang. Also, hear
from speakers on topics of national and state importance, membership,
seniors, technology, Braille, sports and recreation, students, and parents’
concerns, meet the scholarship class of 2021 and much more! There is an
opportunity to make donations during registration and we welcome your
support for the programs and projects of the NFB and the NFBNJ. A donation
over $50 allows you to be a sponsor of the convention; details below in
item d *Virtual Exhibit Room and Sponsors*.


Mark your calendars and make every effort to attend the 45th annual state

*Voting Reminder: *To vote, individuals need to be a current dues paying
member of the NFBNJ (chapter or division, this is different than being on
our distribution list); register for the convention by October 10; supply a
telephone number you plan to use for voting (only one number may be
registered and there will NOT be an opportunity to change this once you
register). Remember voting can also be done by SMS text messaging. If you
fail to register by October 10 you will not be eligible to vote and NO
exceptions will be granted! The convention voting telephone number will be
provided to verified members by the end of October.

*Virtual Exhibit Room and Sponsors: *This committee chaired by Clarke King
and committee members Ellen Sullivan, Mary Jo Partyka, Brian Mackey, Joseph
Ruffalo and Linda Melendez will be setting up a virtual vendor room. Paid
vendors will be given an opportunity to submit a 20 minute audio/video
describing their product or service. This video will be posted on the
convention webpage commencing November 3, 2021 and will remain posted until
December 15, 2021 for independent viewing.


There will now be an opportunity during registration for individuals to
become a sponsor. If you have already registered and donated $50 or more
you will automatically be added as a sponsor, thank you for your generous
donation! Sponsorship is also available to corporations and companies who
wish to make a difference in the lives of blind and low vision individuals;
sponsors can remain anonymous if they wish.


There are four levels of sponsorship for all companies and individuals to
consider and can be paid via PayPal or by sending a check to our Affiliate
Treasurer: Annemarie Cooke (7 Mayfair Road, Southampton, NJ 08088) and
writing convention sponsor in the memo section. We are requesting NFBNJ
Chapters, Divisions and Committees consider voting on a motion during their
upcoming September and October meetings to become a valued sponsor.

·       Live the Life You Want: $100 to $249

·       Blind with Vision: $250 to $499

·       We are More than the Sum of One: $500+



e. *Door Prize Reminder*:
Your Board of Directors would like to ask chapters, divisions and
committees to donate funds for door prizes by sending a check to our
Affiliate Treasurer: Annemarie Cooke (7 Mayfair Road, Southampton, NJ
08088) and write convention door prizes in the memo section. The Convention
Planning Committee plans to buy gift certificates and/or send a check to
the winners. Personal donations are also welcomed, and all donations will
identify the chapter/division/committee or individual giving the gift. All
donation commitments for door prizes should be sent by Monday, October 18.
