Dear NFBNJ Family and Friends:
Have you missed connecting in person with fellow members of the National
Federation of the Blind of NJ who aren’t part of your chapter
meetings? Then you’ll want to be sure to register for this year’s state
convention; we’re having a special NFBNJ Family Reunion dinner on Friday,
November11! So, you can reconnect, chat and catch up with each other.
The meal is just one of the features of our 46th Annual State Convention
November 10-13 at the Delta by Marriott Hotel in Iselin, Woodbridge Twp.
The theme is “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now; We’re on the Move.” We invite you
to register now as we have set aside a limited number of guest rooms at our
special rate. The link to the registration form is at the end of this
letter. For up-to-date convention information including hotel reservations
(special reservation rate closes on October 10) please visit our state
convention webpage or click on the link below

Which safety precautions are we planning to help keep us all safe as
possible from the COVID virus? (Remember, we have held only virtual
conventions since 2020 because of the pandemic)
- All registrants will need to show proof of a negative COVID test
within 72 hours before checking in to the convention;
- Masks with a metal noseband and which completely cover the nose and
mouth must be worn in convention space except when actively eating or
drinking. Acceptable masks are N95, KN95 or KF94. Cloth masks or surgical
masks are not sufficient on their own but would be acceptable when paired
together, also known as “double masking” ;
- Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the public areas of the
hotel;
- Tables for meals will be arranged for eight people rather than 10 and
the exhibit hall will be limited to 13 vendor tables rather than the usual
15 or more.
Other protocols will be in place for anyone who unfortunately feels unwell
or exhibits COVID symptoms during the convention.
This is the first year that you are able to choose the sandwich variety for
your box lunch as well as your Family Reunion dinner and banquet. We ask
that you include payment for these meals along with your registration fee.
We recommend the box lunches because the hotel restaurant has limited food
service during lunch or dinner.
Pre-registration for $25 closes on October 20. Onsite registration will be
$45. This ensures that all our members get to participate in the full
convention. Here is the link to the pre-registration form and payment via
PayPal, Credit/Debit Card or check.

We’re pleased to let you know that the Garden State Chapter and the Senior
Division are this year’s hosts. Additionally, we’re holding a
question-and-answer meeting to address any concerns you may have on
Wednesday, September 7 at 7 PM on the affiliate Zoom account. You will also
meet our National Rep Sheila Wright, newly elected NFB National Board
Member and President NFB of Missouri.
I so look forward to having you join this year’s convention! Please share
far and wide as all are invited.
