Since disability pride is a fairly new concept, *it is important for people
with disabilities to be proudly visible in the community*. The disability
pride movement is about presenting people with disabilities as people
living their lives in plain view proud of their identity as being disabled.

This month’s panelists will share their journey and the purpose and meaning
of accepting, loving and taking pride in your whole self, including your
disability.

Call in to hear which of our panelists: grew up in the foster care system;
is a professional performance artist and composer; manages a program that
mentors blind teens; is a filmmaker who founded the Blind Can Film
Festival; is a survivor of domestic violence; is a Mom who volunteers her
time to advocate for her blind, deafblind and visually impaired peers; is
successfully managing a new career and marriage; and is a motivational
speaker and founder of “FIGHT”.
