INVITATION TO  OPEN HOUSE  AT THE LIONS BLIND CENTER IN HONOR OF BLINDNESS
AWARENESS MONTH

 

All members  of the public and specifically those persons with visual
impairments are cordially  invited to  an Open House at the John D. Young
Lions  Blind Center  at 100 Crestview  Avenue, Absecon, 08201 on Saturday
October  22nd in honor of Blindness awareness Month. Doors open at 10:30
A.M. At 11:00 A.M. several organizations that work with the blind and
visually impaired  will explain their programs.  Members of the  South
Jersey Shore  Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind  of New Jersey
will discuss issues facing the blind and Visually impaired.  Other
organizations such as the John D. Young Lions Blind Center, the Absecon
Visionary Lions Club and the Atlantic  Center for Independent Living  will
also discuss their programs. The  NJ Commission for the Blind  and Visually
Impaired has also been invited to present  to the attendees it's programs
for the blind and visually impaired. At 12:30 P.M. a  snack lunch will be
provided and then until 2:00 P.M. the attendees will have  the opportunity
to  discuss informally with any of the presenters' relevant topics of
interest relating to blindness that they choose. There is no fee to
