General Newsletter from the Office of Senator Andy Kim

Happy Friday, New Jersey!

This past week, Senator Kim worked to push back on attempts from
Congressional Republicans and President Trump to cut Medicaid and raise
taxes on working families. He also had a chance to meet with New Jerseyans
visiting the Capitol. If you’re planning on visiting Washington, DC and
would like a tour of the Capitol, you can visit our tour new tour page on
our website by clicking here

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU ABOUT TARIFFS:

Late last week, President Trump announced new taxes on goods coming into
the United States that will raise prices on working families and have
caused uncertainty for small businesses while driving the stock market
down. As we’re seeing the fallout of these tariffs, *Senator Kim would like
to know: how would price increases from tariffs impact your family*?

If you’re willing to share your opinion, please do here

STANDING UP FOR NEW JERSEY SMALL BUSINESSES:

This week, Senator Kim joined Brianna Keilar on CNN to talk about how Trump
and Republicans in Congress are hurting small businesses in New Jersey and
around the country by sabotaging the economy for working families. Take a
look at some of the back and forth here

This week Senator Kim released the following statement on the tragic death
of Amer Mohammad Saada Rabee, a 14-year-old Palestinian American from

Working for you in Washington Working to Protect Medicaid and Pushing Back
on Trump’s Chaos Around Tariffs PUSHING BACK ON TRUMP’S CHAOS AROUND
TARIFFS:

We are paying the price for Trump's tariffs. That’s why Senator Kim joined
his colleagues in calling for a hearing to dive into their economic damage
and full harm to working families, and to exercise congress' oversight duty
on the Administration. You can learn more about these efforts here
<https://outreach.senate.gov/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=SenKim&crop=14334.6251615.5435978.1046464&report_id=&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fx.com%2fSenatorAndyKim%2fstatus%2f1909747577496420652&redir_log=516916861187332>
.

Senator Kim also joined some of his colleagues for a press conference to
talk about how this whiplash on tariffs will continue to hurt Americans.
You can read about it here
<https://outreach.senate.gov/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=SenKim&crop=14334.6251615.5435978.1046464&report_id=&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fwww.kim.senate.gov%2fsenator-kim-calls-out-uncertainty-and-isolation-caused-by-trumps-tax-whiplash%2f&redir_log=656339119575739>.

------------------------------
WORKING TO PROTECT MEDICAID:

Protecting Medicaid shouldn’t be a partisan subject. Senator Kim believes
it’s about making sure people have care and somewhere to turn when they
need it most. He spoke about that with radio host Tavis Smiley this week.
Take a listen to some of their conversation here
<https://outreach.senate.gov/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=SenKim&crop=14334.6251615.5435978.1046464&report_id=&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fx.com%2fSenatorAndyKim%2fstatus%2f1909395474521501980&redir_log=696397325723331>
.

Senator Kim also spoke on the floor of the Senate late last week about
protecting Medicaid, including introducing a bill that would protect
caregivers. You can watch his speech here
