As our 49th annual state convention approaches, the National Federation of
the Blind of New Jersey invites interested individuals to play an important
part in our event as volunteers.

The convention, whose theme is “Live the Life You Want; Becoming
Champions,” is set for October 23-26, 2025, at the APA Woodbridge Hotel,
formerly the Woodbridge Hilton, 120 Wood Ave., Iselin, Woodbridge.

The venue is new for our convention attendees, so volunteers will be tasked
with guiding individuals to meeting and dining areas, and particularly
serving as talking signs, calling out the title of a particular meeting
room so that attendees, who are blind, have low vision, or are deafblind,
can easily find the rooms. Volunteer tasks could also include assisting
with registration and some behind-the-scenes activities. Volunteer
registration is required, and the link can be found at the end of this
email.

Just a few housekeeping details to ensure smooth operations:

   - Please visit our website to learn more about us.
   www.nfbnj.org
   - Volunteers must also review and agree to follow the NFB Code of
Conduct, which promotes respectful and inclusive interactions for all.
   https://nfb.org/about-us/history-and-governance/code-conduct
   - Please view the NFB Courtesy Rules of Blindness.
   https://nfbnj.org/courtesy-rules-blindness
   - Please select your preferred shift(s) during the registration process.
   - Volunteers under age 18 must have an adult chaperone with them during
   their volunteer session.
   - To ensure that all volunteers are well-prepared, attendance at a
one-hour volunteer training Zoom meeting is required on Tuesday, October
21, 2025, at 7 PM; Zoom details will be sent via email closer to the
   meeting date.

As a volunteer, you play an essential role in helping us provide a smooth,
enjoyable, and meaningful experience for all attendees, including
individuals who are blind, low vision, and deafblind, as well as their
families, exhibitors, presenters, sponsors, and members of the blindness
community. Whether this is your first time volunteering at a National
Federation of the Blind of NJ convention or you are returning to work with
us again, we extend our warmest thanks to you.

Please complete the form below no later than Monday, September 30, 2025, so
we can thoughtfully coordinate assignments and schedules based on your
availability, interests, and experience. Your timely response helps ensure
a well-run and impactful convention; the link to register is below.
