I agree that The Thompson Mill in Shedd is a good choice for our first excursion. Sounds like fun.

Hello Robert,
I tend to agree with Carolyn that both places look interesting, and I too vote for a picnic and tour of the mill in Shedd for this time around. Also, for another time, the Champoeg Heritage Area looks really interesting too, but I couldn’t figure out exactly where it is! Donald, Oregon?  It used to be the settlement of Butteville.

I was hoping you’d take the lead on this idea.  Thanks for the information.  Powerland looks very interesting, but it seems like an all day event and I don’t really have time for that on the 21st.  I vote for the closer Shedd trip.  It looks like we can arrange for a tour and have our picnic.
