I have limited knowledge about Facebook. I’d be willing to help.

Hi All,
I think the question is, who has the time and the inclination to guide the Face Book page? It should be someone who is familiar with Face Book and will commit to managing it long term. Does anyone have these skills and inclination, because I am not a Face book user.

Ok, chiming into this conversation a bit late. I suggest:
*that Kristen contact Stephanie Eller to get any NFB guidelines to keep us from getting crossways of some NFB regulation and also to get any links and other contact information we can put on the page
*that Carolyn and Lynne choose some photos from the Dark Café to put up
*that we work together to write up some description once Kristen has feedback.

How funny – this just came in on the chapter president’s list. I think the question is, who is willing to push the Face Book page, probably by borrowing info from the national folks?

Dear Kane et all,
The National Federation of the Blind is as active as ever before in social media efforts. Maybe some are not aware that Stephanie Eller (seller at nfb.org<mailto:seller at nfb.org> or extension 2423 at our national office) is coordinating our social media presence. You are welcome to reach out to her at any time with questions about building our presence at the local level. Stephanie, along with the rest of the NFB communications team, presented extensively during our Communications Seminar this past weekend.
Sincerely,
Mark A. Riccobono, President
National Federation of the Blind

The National Federation of the Blind is a community of members and friends who believe in the hopes and dreams of the nation's blind. Every day we work together to help blind people live the lives they want.

Amy:
Thank you. I have found and subscribed to this group.
This definitely fills a vacuum, now thatDanielle Trevino apparently has left the National Office.
I am my chapter's leading contributor to our Facebook page, and what I am doing has gotten some promising results. But I would like to train another specific member in our chapter to take the lead in crafting our social media presence, to give her more of a sense of ownership in what we're doing. So drawing from "Social Media And NFB" might really help this young lady to figure out what is worth posting, and--even more so--what is not worth posting.
Thank you for putting this out there.
-Kane
