Thanks for the notes Sally! I have a few comments

  *   Natalie also offered her phone. Sally and Natalie can decide which to use imho. But it would be really good to have a special voice mail for the duration, something like "This is Sally Utt, and this is also the message center for the Linn Benton Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Oregon's Covid mask delivering project".
  *   Having a donate button does seem a little crass, but I do not think the possibility of donation should be hidden. Perhaps the link should read "For more information about our NFB chapter or to make a donation supporting its work, click here" I do think more people will click if the link makes clear that thee info is about us and not the NFB in general. We could have links to NFB in our info page of course.
  *   We need to get out a presss release so all these people who we are asking to help us publicize this event have something to say. Hopefully soon, Kristen will find out about how many masks we can get and whether hand sanitizer is also available. Then we need Kirk's link. I will volunteer to help with the press release and to work with Kirk to get the link up as soon as possible.

Hi All,

Sally, our most awesome Chapter Secretary, put the below notes together from our planning session yesterday.  Please take a look at them to make sure we're all on the same page.

In addition, Sally and I talked a little after our meeting ended last night.  She had a great point that putting the donation option on the registration page may detract from us presenting this as a community service project.  How would y'all feel about having a different button system - maybe have a button on the registration page that says ""learn more about NFB activities and benefits"" which could then link to a second page that highlights our recent activities and has a donate button at that point?.

Finally, does any body have pictures to share?  I never think about social media when our events are happening...

Here's Sally's notes:

NFB FACE MASK DISTRIBUTION PROJECT

Planning and coordinating the project;
Authorized to receive 200 m1 95 masks to distribute to individuals in Benton County who aren't able to drive to a pick up site,
So far we have 6 volunteer drivers

How do we get a list together of people who want to receive them?
Dial-A-Bus
`Love Inc?
`Corvallis Community Center;  send out an email with info about the project
`Parks and Rec
`School District
`The drop in Center downtown?

What kind of mask and how many uses per mask?
How many masks per person?
A Corvallis Sewing Circle

Kirk is offering to set up an online registration for the masks through the State website for masks and sanitizer
    `how many masks requesting
    `name and address; Benton Cty zip codes, drop down box
    `prefered time of delivery; reach out to each person before delivery
    `set up like a shopping cart
    `make a voluntary donation;  donations are tax deductable
        Send out Thank You's right away, with info about how the money will be used;
           Kirk has offered to send out the Thank You's
Will we have a phone number for those not web savvy
`Sally offered her home phone and email for contacting, and will make follow up calls

How will masks be packaged?  We may need to individually wrap masks before delivery.

other?

When will we be doing the deliveries? Until they have all been dispersed
Will we be given hand sanitizer to distribute as well?
Retirement fascilities?

Facebook; Natalie will put up a post; Encourage people to "Share"
Natalie will create a write up about the event for Facebook
John will connect with past Dark Cafe donors
Carolyn will connect with Zonta members

Rosie and friend will collect names and addresses and coordinate and map out the deliveries
Andrea will get contact info for Love Inc and cloth mask makers
Kristen will get masks and sanitizer and coordinate with the County
