Federation:
The attached report corroborates our initial analysis of Title V. Section 511 of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). Moreover, it asserts that the department of Justice’s progress to enforce the community integration mandate of Olmstead may also be threatened by this language. This additional finding is an important consideration and should foster additional support from the Developmental Disability (DD) community and the Independent Living (IL) community. Please share this report with your advocacy networks, and explain to your Senators that this is why most if not all organizations of people with disabilities would like to have Section 511 removed from the WIA. Please ask them to pledge their support to amend the WIA to strike Section 511.
Sincerely,
Anil
