Subject: Tropical Storm Hermine-Get Ready

This is from John Michael Daly, Regional Disability Integration Specialist, FEMA Region IV
Atlanta, Georgia 30341

As the Tropical Storm Hermine approaches the Southeast I want to remind you of some FEMA resources that can help you and your clients be more prepared and ready for natural disasters.

One of our best resources is FEMA's free mobile app that provides weather warnings and alerts for users. It can also provide the location of any open shelters in the area. This app is free and is available at both the

Google Play and Apple App Stores. You can find out more information by using this link https://www.fema.gov/mobile-app

You can find preparedness information on building an emergency kit and develop a family communication plan at www.ready.gov<http://www.ready.gov>. There are additional resources for Individuals with Disabilities and Access and Functional needs at this link as well https://www.ready.gov/individuals-access-functional-needs .

Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend.

Cataracts are among the leading causes of vision loss worldwide; they are usually treatable. Has an ophthalmologist diagnosed you or a loved one with cataracts? Do you need cataract surgery but can't afford the cost? If you're a SC resident and U.S. citizen not covered by Medicare, Medicaid or other insurance; and have cataracts in both eyes, we at the SC Commission for the Blind may be able to help.
