JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The South Carolina Commission for the Blind helps blind or visually impaired residents of South Carolina gain independence and identify their strengths, abilities, skills, and resources to obtain employment. The commission provides adjustment-to-blindness training and job-placement services for thousands of South Carolinians each year.
Under general supervision of the Division Director of Quality Assurance, the Program Assistant provides assistance with collection, formatting and reporting of consumer services data for management information reports. The Program assistance also provides various levels of administrative and technical support on the use of the agency's case management system.
MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
Agency requirements: At least one (1) year of experience in data collection and processing with the use of Microsoft Excel.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze and interpret complex data and develop methods to obtain accurate useful output. Intermediate to advance experience in the use of Microsoft Excel. Considerable knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written communication. Ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying agency policies and procedures.
The employee must be able to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion according to schedules and goals. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, professionalism and interpersonal skills are also essential. Employee must be able to move at least 5 pounds of various office equipment and documents. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Occasional travel during the work week may be required.
