JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

At the South Carolina Commission for the Blind, Our mission is to provide quality individualized vocational rehabilitation services, independent living services and prevention-of-blindness services to blind and visually impaired consumers leading to competitive employment and social and economic independence.
The South Carolina Commission for the Blind welcomes applications for the rewarding career of Driver!

Job responsibilities are transporting consumers in a safe and timely manner to and from their primary residence to attend agency sponsored trainings and appointments.

MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

There are no minimum training or experience requirements for this area.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of safety practice of state laws pertaining to the operation of equipment upon state highways. Possess and maintains a valid South Carolina driver's license.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

Reports directly to the transportation supervisor. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and keep accurate documentation. The employee must be able to work as part of a team and apply reasonable sound judgment in all situations. Th employee must also be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, consumers and the public. Under limited supervision, employee performs work independently and maintains principles, practices and policies of the S.C. Commission for the Blind. The employee must be able to lift, carry and pull at least 15 pounds.
