The NFB of SC is partnering with ABVI and others for an opportunity to get the Johnson and Johnson vaccine June 24 from 9-5 in Ladson SC. Below is info about this event.

 

We will have one in Columbia, June 10 at the Center from 10-4 hosted by the NFB of SC. Details coming very soon.

 

Both events will be discussed at Palmetto Connects.

 

 

What:            COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for Adults (18+) with Visual Impairments

When:           Thursday, June 24th, 9AM – 5PM

Where:          Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired SC – Ladson Location

Yale Plaza

9565 Highway 78, Building 800

Ladson, SC 29456

 

Details:

·       The vaccine is free & you do not need insurance or an ID to get it. 

·       Johnson & Johnson Janssen COVID-19 vaccine will be provided.

·       Shots will be administered by SC DHEC medical professionals. 

·       We ask that you sign up in advance so you can be provided with a time for your vaccine, and so we can provide accurate numbers to DHEC.

·       Free transportation will be provided to adults with visual impairments via Tel-A-Ride, TriCounty Link and ride shares. 

o   Participants are responsible for scheduling their own rides on Tel-A-Ride, TriCounty Link and ride shares. 

·       Adults with visual impairment and a nonpaid caregiver over the age of 18 can participate. 

·       A 1-page consent form is required to collect demographic information. 

·       ABVI staff and volunteers will be present to help with reading and completing the consent form, sighted guide and more. 

·       Media may be present to take photos and report on the clinic. 

·       Water and snacks will be provided for clinic participants.
