Actually, you absolutely can have closed meetings, even if you’re a nonprofit. The national board has all meetings
Closed, except for the one at the national convention. There are times when the board needs to discuss issues for example personnel issues, or other information that needs to be restricted. It is an issue of privacy. That does not mean that the board will not report back to the membership what was decided and discussed. The 15 members of our state board are elected to represent the best interest of the membership. It would be nice if people trusted that that is what we are doing. Be kinder than you feel,
