Please see the below info for how to get a Braille letter from Santa or a winter celebration letter for your Braille-reading children or family members! Please also see below for info on how to sign up for this year’s Braille Readers are Leaders contest. The reading period will begin on Monday and there is still plenty of time to register if you haven’t! Please reach out to Jamie at nfbsccherokeejamie at gmail.com or 874-838-0338 if you need help registering for the contest and signing onto beanstack to log your minutes read. This year, adult readers are divided into three different groups depending on how often and much you read Braille. The contest will track how many minutes you’ve read and not the number of pages so that quicker readers do not have an advantage. We will be offering some prizes at the state level for those who let Jamie know they’re reading and who can send weekly updates on how many minutes were read during each week of the contest. Please reach out to Jamie and let her know if you’ve already signed up and want to be considered for state level prizes or if you want to and heed help doing it. We will also have a bragging rights contest between the districts to determine which district amasses the most minutes. We had four readers last year and we can most certainly do even better this year! Let’s get South Carolina recognized at the national level for its readership!
