Good morning all,
We on the Legislative and Advocacy Committee are happy to report that our
first virtual meeting went well. We will be more than happy to provide
in-depth information on our meetings to anyone who reaches out with interest
in the information; however we do want to refer to some previously
distributed information.
First, on the December 7th meeting of the committee, verbal notice was given
to all attendees that they must reach out in order to participate. Nest, on
both December 11th and December 30th, affiliate members were
informed/reminded that only those who expressed interest would be
participating in this year's virtual meetings. The written language read,
"All affiliate members are wanted and welcome to participate in these
virtual meetings, but if you are interested in being on this team, you must
contact me via email at elizabethrouse.nfb at gmail.com
<mailto:elizabethrouse.nfb at gmail.com> no later than Friday, January 7th."
As it was expressed that any individual, regardless of title, position, or
previous involvement, should have reached out, we only distributed our
Washington Seminar Zoom information to those who reached out by the
established deadline, participated in trainings, and exhibited their level
of knowledge pertaining to our bills. Additionally, we had President Bazer's
support on this practice/procedure.
Therefore, if anyone has any questions or comments about the established and
distributed expectations, I invite them to refer back to our emails and
reminders before reaching out, but as always, Anna and myself are more than
willing to receive feedback for next year's planning.
Yours in the Federation,
Elizabeth
