[NFBofSC] The BRAILLE MONITOR Vol 65 No 9 October 2022

Good evening federation family,

Please see the latest edition of the Braille Monitor below. I especially
enjoyed the article on
<https://nfb.org/images/nfb/publications/bm/bm22/bm2209/bm220905.htm> the
Silver Bells program as that is a program I recently mentioned to a few of
our members and hope we can implement in the SC affiliate. The Texas
affiliate has done big things with their Silver Bells program and assisted
in the development of the program in VA. This is something that we should
get involved in, with or without the support of other organizations,
agencies, and partners. It brings a huge benefit to our aging population.

There is also an article on
<https://nfb.org/images/nfb/publications/bm/bm22/bm2209/bm220906.htm> hybrid
meeting considerations when it comes to tech. I truly hope more of our
chapters invest in a hybrid format. For those of you who know me, you know
that I am extremely passionate about our members and supporting them. I feel
all meetings should have a hybrid component. I believe we should do
everything that we can to include all of our members in what we do and
anything less is doing a disservice to our members. That includes voting and
running for office. This is not something that is often spoken about, but in
my opinion making meetings hybrid makes them accessible to more of our
members.
