Good Morning Sunrise and Shine Family,

If an idea works the first time, sometimes the best thing you can do is do it again. Back in June we held a mini vendor showcase featuring several Exhibit Hall sponsors from various Summer conventions. I’ve had several requests to try this out again, but this time we will zero in on the supporters you’ll have an opportunity to visit with during the National Federation of the Blind of Florida’s upcoming State Convention being held in Jacksonville, October 7th thru the 9th.

I’m still working out invitations for our Thursday morning get-together with a couple of folks, but I can tell you that some of our guests are going to be new to you. Two of our four title sponsors will be with us, I’m so looking forward to welcoming Clusiv and Stellar MLS. We’ll see if we can get Vicky Preddy from Vanda Pharmaceutical and John Finch from Able United on with us too, so we can thank them for their tremendous support. My friend Ron Brooks will be stopping in to tell us about the amazing company known as Uzurv. This transportation service provider is growing throughout the nation and most especially here in Florida. We will need to give Ron a big Sunrise and Shine welcome because he’s getting up super early to join us from Phoenix Arizona, (someone will need to get Ron a big cup of coffee…or maybe two). Tricia Waechter, owner of Blind Girl Designs will tell us all about her uniquely designed line of t-shirts, sweatshirts, dresses and more. She will be bringing a huge supply of merchandise to sell in our Exhibit Hall, all the way from Texas. You’ll get to visit with some familiar faces too during this information packed, fun filled call. I’ll make sure we have some adaptive technology dealers you know and love on hand too. What about our loyal Sunrise and Shine with NFB-NEWSLINE supporters from Guidelights and Gadgets, Barry and Kae? I’m giving them a little nudge to join us, (Barry might show up if I offer Krispy Kreme doughnuts from our Florida Association of Blind Students Division.

If you aren’t going to be able to join us for Convention in a few weeks, I think you’ll still find the excitement of Rise and Shine this week to be well worth your time. The supporters eager to speak to you have plenty to offer before, during and after Convention. Why not take a morning break with your SRS family and friends and find out how their products and services can add something special to your life. We’ll spend some time reviewing the resources for Convention that will be on NFB-NEWSLINE®, including the large list of vendors who will be in the Starboard Ball Room at the Southbank Hotel.

If you haven’t been to one of our calls before, joining us at 9:00 AM for coffee or tea will give you a chance to find out what you’ve been missing. We always take time for welcoming new guest speakers and participants and for lots of warmth and laughter.

Most of us have become pretty familiar with attending meetings using the Zoom platform over the past couple of years and in fact, we’ve been using Zoom since we launched Rise and Shine way back on April 16th 2020. If you’re not used to using Zoom or if it’s still giving you difficulties, don’t give up just yet. You can access the meeting by clicking on he below listed web link, by using the one tap mobile feature or by dialing the phone number provided and entering the access code when prompted.

The regulars on our call are always warm and welcoming and are thrilled to see new faces.

Hope to have you with us Thursday morning, see below for the Zoom info.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me before the call. Check the bottom of this email for the Zoom call-in instructions.
