Cooking with The Blind Kitchen
Everyone has a place at the table in The Blind Kitchen!
Welcome to The Blind Kitchen's monthly newsletter, where we talk about our adaptive tools, helpful strategies, and specialized knowledge provided to blind and vision-impaired people who want to cook safely, confidently, and independently.
>From the Store:
The Blind Kitchen offers tools and techniques that make cooking at home safe and enjoyable for blind and vision-impaired home cooks. This is what we are really excited about right now!
Image Description: This image shows the safe can opener and the can strainer. The can opener has a sturdy black plastic handle with a turning mechanism at the top. The can strainer is stainless steel with small holes and is one inch deep.
The Safe Can Opener and Can Strainer
The Blind Kitchen’s safe can opener removes the lid from canned foods and the can strainer allows for easy draining of liquid in the can.
The jagged edges that the majority of hand crank can openers produce can easily cut the hands of any cook when trying to remove and dispose of them. With vision loss, this can be especially tricky, this can opener and strainer can help to easily solve that issue.
