Dear NFB Family,

What do great leaders, strong advocates, and unforgettable storytellers all have in common?

They know how to speak up. 

That’s why the South Carolina Organization of Blind Black Leaders (SCOBBL), a division of the NFB of SC, is excited to launch our 3rd Annual Public Speaking Series — and trust us, you do not want to miss this year’s sessions!

Whether you’re terrified of public speaking, already love the mic, or just want to stop saying “ummm” every five seconds at meetings 😄, this series is designed to help you become a more confident and impactful speaker.

📅 Series Dates (All Thursdays at 7:00 PM ET)
• May 21, 2026
• June 18, 2026
• July 16, 2026

Our first session this Thursday, May 21, 2026 will focus on the common types of public speaking and how knowing the difference can instantly strengthen your delivery and confidence.

And of course… the series will lead up to our exciting Public Speaking Showcase during the NFB of SC State Convention, August 13–16, 2026! 

This series is open to any NFB members so invite a friend, chapter member, or fellow Federationist to join us. And do know you do not have to participate in our annual Public Speaking Showcase to attend any of the sessions in this series. 

Come ready to laugh, learn, grow, and maybe even surprise yourself.

Because your voice matters — and somebody needs to hear it.
