Subject: [Nfbnet-members-list] NFB Pre-Authorized Contribution Program
To: "nfbnet-members-list at nfbnet.org" <nfbnet-members-list at nfbnet.org>
To Participants in the National Federation of the Blind Pre-Authorized
Contribution program,
On behalf of the organization I want to thank you for your continued
support of the National Federation of the Blind and the important work
we do to help blind people live the lives they want. If you are a PAC
donor and your contribution is processed on the 10th of the month, you
may have noticed some unusual activity in your bank account or on your
credit card related to your November PAC donation. I want to apologize
to everyone who may have a double transaction for PAC in the last
week. In September the national office implemented a new financial
system that allows us to reduce our processing time and increase our
reporting capability; this new system allows us to streamline our PAC
processing. We have successfully been using the new financial system
for 2.5 months and during that time worked to prepare the PAC program
to transition from the old system to the new system. Because we
successfully tested the system, we thought the new PAC processing
system was ready to launch. The new PAC progressing program
successfully ran on the 9th; however, the old system was still working
and ran transactions on the 10th of November. We processed refunds as
soon as we discovered the error. If you see two ACH or credit card
transactions from the National Federation of the Blind between the 9th
and the 10th, you should also see a refund from the National
Federation of the Blind between the 11th and 14th.
Again, we apologize for this error. We have disabled the old PAC
system and are now running exclusively on the new system. Please
contact President Riccobono, Nick Lambright, or me at the national
office if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you for your patience and your continued support of the National
Federation of the Blind.
