Greetings from your NFB-NEWSLINE team! We hope spring has at last
come to your state and that you will enjoy these new additions to NFB-NEWSLINE.

First, we have something for kids: Stone Soup, a literary magazine
for children that publishes writing and art created by children from
all over the world. The magazine was founded in 1973 by college
students at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Their purpose
was to "encourage youngsters to use writing as a way to talk about
their lives." They continue to run the publication today from their
offices in Santa Cruz, California. Each issue of Stone Soup contains
stories, poems, and art by primarily 8 to 13-year-old contributors.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise
the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create
obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life
you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
