National Federation of the Blind of Cleveland
Announcements: March 17th, 2020

Good day Cleveland,

I pray that you are safe and healthy. During this unprecedented world
crisis everyone  has questions and concerns. While it may be difficult
to live the life you want today, rest assured that you are not alone.

The Cleveland Chapter will not meet this month. President Turner has
posted an informative e mail to the Cleveland Chapter List and on the
voice box. Please take time to read it and  these items and others
will be updated regularly.

While we are quarantined, take a few moments to contact  family and
friends and share something uplifting.
Some of our chapter members are experiencing health issues and would
appreciate a call or e mail.

If you learn of others please notify me so they can be added to the list.

Below are some ideas that may help to relieve anxiety.

Prioritize! Determine what is important for you and your family.

Precautions! Follow the CDC Guidelines and directives given by the
state of Ohio.

Breathe! Think Positive! Below are some suggestions:

Games! Remember board and card games? What about tic tack toe and hangman?

Recipe! Let’s share the recipes we love.  Organize your pantry items,
it’s a good time to finish labeling everything.

Explore new aps on your smart phone or tablet. Listen to a pod cast.
Sign up for nfb Newsline.

Ask Alexa! To tell Jokes, Trivia and Riddles  and play games.  Explore
the AP and discover the possibilities.

Sign up  on line for BARD Mobile and read a good book or magazine.
The Ohio library for the blind and Physically disabled is closed for
the next 3 to 4 weeks.  Currently new titles are being added to the
BARD site.

If you have low vision or sighted help, use Cleve net and gain access
to thousands of new titles.

Meditate, learn a new skill or language and then there is always your
e mail in box and a  closet or two to clean out, lol.

Binge watch the shows you love and discover new ones.

Most importantly, Stay  connected to family  and friends young and
old. Call, e mail and text.

Support Ohio Affiliate fund raisers!

 Malley’s candy
https://malleys.com/fundraising/campaign/natl-fed-blind-ohio/ and

honey Baked Ham https://honeybakedfundraising.com/fundraisers/NFBOhio
Order Independently through web site.

The Piggest Raffle is postponed and will be rescheduled for the fall.

Finally, follow the CDC guidelines and reach out for assistance if you need it.

Let’s stay connected, let me know how you are making it through the
quarantine. I love trivia and having fun testing my knowledge. I
recently started a modified version, lol, of the Mediterranean diet
and looking for recipes. Post your favorites!

Until next Time! Onward!

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create
obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life
you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
