Invite All To Celebrate Disability Employment Awareness Month With Ohio!

2022 theme, "Disability: Part of the Equity Equation".

October 19, 2022

7:00 PM EST.

Be present for an enlightening presentation; as we learn from four esteem
panelist who have attained a career that has aided them in becoming a high
talent professional, and the path it took them to achieve equity among their
sighted counterparts.

The Ohio Employment Committee aspires to offer those who are seeking such a
career path and is either stuck or unsure how and where to gain a starting
point. It is not always the job, but it is the career that most people are
seeking in life. The purpose of this opportunity is to provide members a
presentation on the value of leadership, networking and performing at a high
level; within and outside of the National Federation of the Blind that will
provide a break, create innovation and get results seeking, transitioning
or applying for an upper mobility opportunity.

The year of 2022 has proven that job seekers must be flexible, adaptable
and have a clear plan in order to stay relevant. In addition to that,
integration is essential to the productivity of employment. The blind must
be a part of that equity equation in everything we do on the job, in the
community and beyond our scope. We hope such an endeavor will be encouraging
to those who want to grow, excel and have a fighting chance in life. Lastly,
as you are aware, to achieve successful employment, you must be qualified
with relatable expertise that will set you aside from those who are also
applying for the same employment position.

So, we would like to introduce to some and provide a reacquaintance for
others to hear from: Roland Allen, Cane Travel Instructor, Louisiana Center
for the Blind, Maurice Peret, Coordinator, Career Mentoring & Employment
Programs, National Federation of the Blind Jernigan Institute, Allison
Meloy, MS, CRC, Program Administrator, Opportunity For Ohioans With
Disabilities, Bureau of Services For The Visually Impaired and Alicia
