Cleveland Chapter Members,
As President of the Cleveland Chapter of the National Federation of the
Blind of Ohio, it is both my responsibility and my privilege to ensure that
our members remain
A: informed,
B: uplifted, and
C: motivated
as we continue our journey together.
To strengthen our personal growth, community engagement, and agile
leadership, I am excited to introduce a new initiative:
"Weekly Inspiration Resolutions".
Each week, I will share a resolution for you to consider, implement, and
reflect upon. These resolutions are designed to enhance your life, deepen
your connection to our mission, and strengthen your role within our
organization and community.
During our chapter meetings, we will take time to discuss these resolutions.
I encourage each of you to share your experiences, perspectives, and
progress, as your voice may inspire and guide others along their journey.
What is a Resolution?
A resolution is a firm decision to take intentional action toward growth or
change. Unlike a goal, which focuses on an outcome, a resolution emphasizes
commitment, discipline, and daily practice. When embraced weekly,
resolutions become stepping stones that shape habits, build confidence, and
create meaningful transformation over time.
The Power of Weekly Self-Reflection
Engaging in a weekly regiment of self-reflection allows you to pause,
evaluate your progress, and realign with your purpose. It creates space to
celebrate successes, learn from challenges, and make adjustments that keep
you moving forward. Over time, this practice strengthens self-awareness,
resilience, and personal accountability.
Empowerment, Upliftment, and Self-Direction
- Empowerment is the process of gaining the confidence, knowledge, and
strength to take control of your life and decisions. It means recognizing
your abilities and using them to create opportunities for yourself and
others.
- Upliftment is the act of encouraging and supporting one another. When we
uplift each other, we build a culture of positivity, inclusion, and shared
success.
- Self-direction is the ability to guide your own path with intention and
purpose. It requires discipline, clarity, and a commitment to continuous
growth.
Together, these principles create a foundation for strong leadership and
meaningful community impact. When we commit to growth individually, we
strengthen our chapter collectively.
I look forward to sharing our first Weekly Inspiration Resolution and to
hearing how each of you brings it to life. Let us continue to move forward
with purpose, unity, and determination.

The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and
all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
