Greetings,

It is hard to believe it is almost April, which means  our state convention
is just around the corner. As Door prize and Action auction Coordinator , I
am reaching out to each and every one of you to help make this the most
exciting door prize packed convention yet!

Door prizes are often sponsored by businesses in our area. They  may donate
items such as gift cards, small or specialty items. It may also be something
that you have found to be helpful such as the newest slate and stylus or
your favorite card game. All items should be new. Cash and Consumables also
make excellent door prizes!

I am often Asked if there is a dollar limit on a door prize. The answer is
no. We can group things which have a smaller value together but the door
prize committee reserves the right to do so. Larger or more expensive items
or gift baskets may be selected by the committee to use as Action auction
items. The Action auction will raise funds for our Live the Life you want
fund. We will continue funding member development by assisting members to
attend Washington Seminar, State and national convention along with other
events which will contribute to their growth. 

A few suggestions about what makes a good Action auction item:

1.     Chapter or Division Basket(s): A great tradition here in the state of
Oklahoma.

2.       Handcrafted: Many of our chapters have talented crafters and
artists that we hope to showcase.

3.       An item that is consumable, such as chocolate or baked items.

4.       Technology

Your donation is tax deductible, and we would be happy to provide our Tax ID
number upon request.  

As you or members of your chapters, begin to collect items, please contact
me with what you have in a description via email.  We work hard to have an
idea of how many door prizes we will have ahead of time so we can pace
accordingly. Please bring door prizes and auction items with you to
convention. 

Chapters or members, who wish to provide cash as door prizes should let me
know and bring the cash directly to the convention.
