Hi Marie,

Is Rich a veteran? If so, you can check with Emily Gindlesperger (vp2 at nfbp.org <mailto:vp2 at nfbp.org> ) to see if it is too late to recognize Rich. I think it is too late, but there might have been a cancelation that opened up a spot. There were email announcements a while back about completing an online form to tell us about veterans to honor.

Regarding iPhone training, we might go over a bit of that during the Thursday technology sessions (November 11 from 1PM to 5PM), but the focus will be on different apps and other technologies. There are free training materials we can point you to. A laptop does provide greater capabilities, so depending on what you need it to do a laptop is probably the better option. You can get an inexpensive PC computer from Computers for the Blind, in case that is a route you want to take.

I will ask Marsha about sources for braille alphabet T-shirts for your daughter. she might know where you can get one.

Looking forward to seeing you at the convention,
Joe

Thank you, Joe! That is cool!
I have two questions about the convention. The first is concerning the veterans being recognized on Thursday, and I want to know what to do to get my helper, rich, recognized. He has been to many state conventions and has taken me to many NFB meetings in the past.
The second is regarding a session about the iPhone and the session I should attend to address it. I know the basics, and use many of the applications available on the iPhone, but I do not know voiceover commands with cutting, copying, and pasting, as well as using spreadsheets. I have always done those things on a laptop with Microsoft, but I need a new laptop.
My husband wants me to learn how to do everything on the Iphone, but I think it would be easier and quicker for me to do it on the laptop. What are your thoughts?

Thanks, Marie
PS please tell Marcia I am really trying to find a T-shirt with the braille alphabet to get Domino for Christmas!
