Assistive Technology Program Coordinator - TDDP

The Assistive Technology Coordinator is primarily responsible for the
administrative operations of Free Special Phones (TDDP) and PA’s
Initiative on Assistive Technology (PIAT) ReUSE program that provides
assistance to consumers on devices and services to meet their functional
needs. In addition, this person supports the activities of PIAT and
other Assistive Technology programs and projects. Activities include
corresponding with others, investigating solutions, creating website
content, documenting activities, managing projects and cases, drafting
reports and policies, developing procedures/protocols and analyzing
activities/outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of directly related
experience that includes working with people with disabilities and
familiarity with assistive technology. An equivalent combination of
education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:
• Knowledge of, experience with, and/or ability to learn about a range
of assistive technology devices.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct trainings and make presentations to
groups.
• Ability to prioritize well and focus on completion of tasks and
objectives while under stress of demanding work schedule;
• Ability to operate input/output devices to control a computer
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with diverse groups of
individuals, including persons with disabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to off-site, regional and state-wide locations that
may not be accessible via public transportation.
• Ability to lift/move training materials that are approx. 40lbs in weight.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred:
• Previous work with seniors
This is a grant funded position
