Subject: [blind-philly-comp] TechVision Seeking Technology Instructors
To: Philadelphia Computer Users Group for the Blind and Visually
Impaired <blind-philly-comp at groups.io>
The following email is from Dr. Denise M. Robinson
Email: deniserob at gmail.com
Dr. Robinson does not specify whether this position is based out of a
specific location or whether it is virtual. However, she is most
definitely legit and really knows her stuff which is why I am
comfortable in posting this announcement. As I am not affiliated with
TechVision please email any inquiries to her privately. Here is the
announcement which I received from the Trainer Talk list.
TechVision is opening a position for a highly skilled instructor to teach
students assignments needed in real time. This means you need to know
Office, google, internet searching, problem solving, Jaws, NVDA, narrator
and school platforms and anything put out by the school. You have to think
quickly and adjust to what the child needs, keeping calm while the child
may be getting upset with tech glitches. You would be working in a k-12
environment. Teaching with assistive tech skill/degree is desired but if
you can demonstrate your skills and learn rapidly to keep up with school
platforms, you will be considered for hire. Pay is negotiable based on
skill level. Skill level will determine how many hours you will teach.
Braille and Nemeth knowledge are also needed.
Please send a resume and times available for an interview that will be
identical to what you would face teaching on a daily basis with students.
You would be joining a very dynamic group of instructors teaching in 6 time
zones.
