Hello all,
During yesterday's Pennsylvania State Board of Vocational Rehabilitation
meeting it was announced that the previous maximum for each open case in the
Independent Living Older Blind program (ILOB) within the Bureau of Blindness
and Visual Services is being increased from $1,500 per customer to $5,000.
This will be active from January 1, 2023, through June 30, 2023, at which
time it could possibly be extended if funding is available. If you or
someone you know is an older adult losing vision, please encourage them to
take advantage of this increase in the amount that BBVS can spend on each
customer's case. Contact your local BBVS office to sign up for services.
Also, please find below the 2023 quarterly meeting dates and locations for
the State Board of Vocational Rehabilitation. You are all encouraged to
attend to hear what is going on within OVR and to voice your opinion on how
BBVS is doing.
Warmly,
Joe
