About the job
At Zoom, we believe in building products with simplicity and ease of
use for users of all abilities. As an Accessibility Analyst, you will
analyze the accessibility across various Zoom products and features,
and define accessibility requirements to make those products compliant
with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards, and most
importantly, usable for people with disabilities.
You will
* Define the accessibility requirements for new and existing
features on Zoom native and web applications
* Identify areas of improvement, spec out solutions, and
collaborate with front-end engineers/designers to drive those
enhancements through to completion.
* Develop and execute accessibility test plans using a mix of
automated and manual accessibility testing methods.
* Be the accessibility point of contact for development teams.
You will provide coaching and accessibility consultation on new
features as they are being built.
Qualifications
You are a problem solver who is passionate about accessibility and
sensitive to the needs of people with disabilities. You have deep
knowledge of how to craft accessible user experiences that go beyond
just compliance. You can dive deep into complex accessibility issues
to identify the root cause and solution, and you possess the
sensibility to articulate how those technical requirements impact the
end-user experience.
* Strong understanding of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
* Experience in quality assurance test planning, test
execution, and project management. Exceptional organizational skills
to successfully manage large testing projects
* An understanding of accessible web development strategies
through semantic HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS, and Javascript
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to break down
accessibility concepts to both technical and non-technical
stakeholders.
* Experience testing with accessibility evaluation tools (Wave,
Accessibility Insights, Accessibility Inspector), and with assistive
technologies (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver)
* An understanding of how people with a variety of disabilities
use assistive technologies (e.g., screen reader, screen magnifier,
keyboard-only access) and the ability to analyze the impact of a
barrier to accessibility.
* Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction,
Computer Science, Informatics, or in a related field
