JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State World Campus Academic Advising and Student Disability
Services is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to
be a part of our Student Disability Services (SDS) team. The Student
Disability Specialist will be responsible for working with student s
who are seeking accommodations under Title II of the Americans with
Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2008 and Section 504 of the
Rehabilitation Act of 1973. This person will also be responsible for
monitoring and providing alternative text; working with outside
vendors, i.e. scheduling live captioning; providing notetaking,
assisting with assistive technology adaption; completing student
intakes to recommend accommodations for classes; coordinating services
with learning designers, faculty, and students. The successful
candidate will work with students to provide direct support and work
with our academic partners to ensure that necessary support and
services are being provided.

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of
related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.

this position include:

  *   Ability to manage a workweek that may exceed 40 hours during peak times

Computer competencies needed are: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, chat,
student records systems, and e-mail. We seek candidates who are able
to demonstrate experience and an ability to advance Outreach's
diversity initiative.

T his is a 40-hour workweek, a Monday through Friday 8: 00 a.m.-5:00
p.m. schedule with a one-hour lunch break. This position is located in
University Park, PA, with a possibility of permanent remote work. Due
to the COVID Pandemic, our staff are telecommuting until further
notice.
