The below research participant solicitation is being provided for
informational purposes only. The National Federation of the Blind has
no involvement in this research, but we believe that it may contribute
to our research mission.

Invitation to Participate in Our Accessible Data Visualization
Research Study Survey
Dear members of the NFB,
Are you ready to make a significant impact on the world of accessible
data visualizations? Join us in a research study to gain insights on
how you would access visualizations and better help data curators
create accessible visualizations. This research is conducted by a
diverse team of scholars at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign, consisting of Blind and Low-vision (BLV) and sighted
researchers.

What We're Exploring:
Our research is centered around the development and enhancement of an
accessible data visualization system tailored to the needs of BLV
individuals.

We aim to gather insights to:

  * Identify the experience most BLV individuals have with data visualization.
  * Understand where BLV people would require data visualization.
  * Pave the way for a more inclusive future in producing accessible
data visualizations and data science education.

Who We're Looking For:
We invite individuals who meet the following criteria to participate
in our survey:

  *   Aged 18 or older.
  * Meet the U.S. legal definition of blindness (visual acuity of
not greater than 20/200 in the better eye with correction, or a field
not exceeding an angle greater than 20 degrees).
  * Regularly use assistive technology like screen reader or screen
magnification software. (E.g. JAWS, ZoomText, Fusion, NVDA,
VoiceOver, Magnifier, Orca, etc.)
  * Currently located in the United States

Survey Details:

  *   Duration: Approximately 10 minutes.
  * Participation: Your voluntary participation is highly appreciated.

Your Privacy Matters:
Rest assured that your personal information, including your name and
email, will not be collected in our survey to protect your privacy.

Ready to Participate?

Spread the Word:
We encourage you to share this invitation with other individuals who
meet our criteria and may be interested in participating.
Thank you for your commitment to improving accessibility and
inclusivity in data visualization.
Sincerely,
