NFB of PA jigsaw chapter monthly meeting minutes
September 7, 2024
Members in attendance:
David Miller, Preston Gaylor, Frank Beam, Linda Mackey, Brian Mackey,
Samantha Adams, Rob Farabaugh, Christine Callahan
Meeting called to order at 10:08 AM
Round Table:
We recieved a new member named Samathana Adams, she just moved here from
Scramento, she moved to be closer to family, she grew up in Western Canada
for 40 years of her life's journey.
She is currentley on Guide dog #4 from GDB, she was a lawyer for 15 years,
and now teaches assistive technology remotely.
She attended her first NFB convention in 1995 in Chicago.
She met many role models, and was inspired about what she discovered.
Also, allmost forgot, Sam has RP and has been blind since 2008.
Preston has been exploring local breweries, and gathering all items for
convention.
His lions club is going to set up a basket for the state convention auction.
Brian has been golfing and still on the job hunt.
Linda has returned from her cruise, and is now playing catch up from her
trip.
her and her husband explored, Ireland, scottland, and London for their
cruise.
Christine has nothing new to report.
Rob has returned from Myrtle beach and will be returning to FL in october.
Frank has began his kemo treatments a couple of weeks from his bladder
cancer, he is feeling ok.
He's also in the process of getting a new laptop from the Scranton blind
association.

David has been letting us know the keystone blind association has been
looking for more workers, you can get more info on their website.
Emily is looking for door prizes for state convention.

new business
Brian did lets us know that there is going to be a board meeting on sunday
for the state affilate.
The presidential release was played at 10:35 AM.

Meeting concluded at 11:02AM
Next meeting will be taking place Saturday, October 5th, at 10:00am
