[NFBP-Talk] Blind People on the Move!

Dear friends and families,

It is a common misconception that blind people are sedentary, and don’t get out much or exercise. Too often, blind people internalize this idea and fall victim to these negative beliefs.

Well, the Keystone Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Pennsylvania is striking that notion down!

On August 8, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., members of the Keystone chapter will participate in a Philly Fun Walk! The walk will start from the historic University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology at 3260 South Street. Then we will  head over to Cira Green, which is a beautiful rooftop green space in the heart of the city of brotherly love. This park is located at 129 S. 30th  street and overlooks the mighty Schuylkill River. But to get to the park, we will walk up 12 flights of stairs up to the roof of the Cira Tower. Once we reach the roof, we will walk several laps around the entire one acre Cira Green park. In total we will be walking two miles!

This will be an experience to remember for our members as we shatter misconceptions and raise money to promote equality and independence for blind people through the work of the National Federation of the Blind!
