Neighborhoods for All - and FREE LUNCH

Hi friends,

As you may know, I am a member of the Seattle Planning Commission. In December we released a report called “Neighborhoods for All” that looks into how to expand access to housing options in the 75% of the city’s residential land that is off-limits to anything but an expensive house.

I wanted to pass along an invitation to attend one of two events, April 27 (N Seattle College) and May 4 (Columbia City), both with FREE LUNCH, where folks will talk about the fact-finding behind the report and possible solutions, complete with some great graphics. The commission is especially looking for people who are not steeped in the issue, but may have some curiosity and are open to a conversation. See the attached flyers for details.

As the report web site says:

The fundamental goal of the report is to increase housing choices by returning to the mix of housing and development patterns found in many of Seattle's older and most walkable neighborhoods. The Seattle Planning Commission has approached this work with the hope of continuing this necessary and urgent conversation about reexamining our land use policies.

I hope you’ll consider checking out one of the open houses!

Regards,

David
