Public Hearing
The Select Budget Committee will conduct a public hearing to solicit public comment on: (1) the City’s 2020 General Revenue Sources, including a possible property tax levy increase; and (2) the Mayor’s 2020 Proposed Budgets and 2020-2025 Capital Improvement Program.

The hearing begins at 5:30 p.m. and continues until all in-person comments have been received. Members of groups with similar interests are encouraged to combine their comments. Groups with three or more people will be limited to five minutes. Individual comments will be limited to two minutes or less.

Notice of Seattle City Council Public Hearing on 2020 General Revenue Sources & Mayor’s 2020 Proposed Budget
Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 5:30 p.m.

The Seattle City Council's Select Budget Committee, chaired by Councilmember Bagshaw, will conduct a public hearing at City Council Chambers on Thursday, October 3, 2019, to solicit public comment on the following: (1) the City’s 2020 General Revenue Sources, including a possible property tax levy increase; and (2) the Mayor’s 2020 Proposed Budgets and 2020-2025 Capital Improvement Program.
 
The hearing begins at 5:30 p.m. and continues until all in-person comments have been received. Those wishing to provide public comment must sign up on registers issued by the Legislative Department that will be provided outside the entry of the City Council Chambers beginning at 4:30 p.m.  Members of groups with similar interests are encouraged to combine their comments. Group with three or more people will be limited to five minutes. Individual comments will be limited to two minutes or less.
 
This hearing will be cablecast live on Seattle Channel 21 and webcast live at http://www.seattle.gov/council/watch-council-live.

On or after September 23, 2019, the Mayor’s 2020 Proposed Budget and accompanying 2020-2025 Proposed Capital Improvement Program (CIP), will be available online at http://www.seattle.gov/financedepartment/. Paper copies of the Proposed Budget and CIP will also be available at the Central Library. To purchase a printed copy of the Proposed Budget or CIP, please contact Zebra Printing at (206) 223-1800.

Written Comments
Written comments on the Mayor’s 2020 Proposed Budget are welcome up to the date the Council adopts the final budget (on or before November 25, 2019).

Pay Parking
Pay parking is available in SeaPark Garage located between Cherry and James Streets and 5th and 6th Avenues. Those attending the budget public hearings receive a discounted rate of $5.00. Notify the garage cashier that you attended the City Council public hearing and you will receive the special rate. Please note that this discount only applies to vehicles entering the garage after 4:00 p.m. and the garage closes at 11:00 p.m.
 
Request for Accommodations
Council Chambers is ADA accessible. An Induction Loop assistive listening system is installed. Handheld amplified receivers and headsets are also available upon request. Please check-in with the Committee Clerk upon arrival. Print and communications and other accommodations may be provided by contacting customer support at (206) 684-8888; or TTY Relay 7-1-1; or visit http://seattle.gov/cityclerk/accommodations. Every effort will be made to accommodate each request.

Childcare Provided
Parents or guardians attending the Budget Public Hearing and who wish to utilize the complimentary childcare, please RSVP via email with Chris Galbraith (chris.galbraith at seattle.gov). On the day of the hearing, check in at City Council Reception from 4:30 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. Childcare will be provided by A-List Nanny Services.
