deliberations on the biennial budget. As Chair of the Council's Budget and
Fiscal Management Committee, I will be focused on shepherding the Council's
review of the Executive's proposed budget for the 2023-2024 biennium through
our public process for the next seven and a half weeks. There are several

Executive Constantine's Budget Address

The County budget process began on Tuesday, September 27th with a Budget
Address from Executive Dow Constantine, where he outlined his proposed
2023-2024 King County Budget to the King County Council at 10 am. If you

Evening Public Hearings

There will be opportunities for community members to actively participate in
the budget process as well. Throughout October, there will be four
opportunities to ask questions and provide public comment. These will take
place in the evenings at 6:00 PM on October 5th, October 12th, and October
19th. Two in-person public hearings will take place - the first will be next
week at the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village, and the following
Wednesday will be held at the Kent Senior Activity Center. A hybrid,
in-person and remote comment hearing will take place in the Council Chambers
at the King County Courthouse, and will be livestreamed by KCTV
