GoodMaps app provides navigational tool for Westlake and International
District/Chinatown Stations

 

Hello accessibility stakeholders,  

 

This message is relevant for 1 Line passengers with smartphones who could
benefit from assistance in wayfinding through our stations. 

 

Sound Transit is excited to announce a new partnership with GoodMaps. This
new relationship will help introduce an accessible wayfinding tool that
passengers can use when navigating new or complex environments or who just
want to find their way through our stations more efficiently. By providing
real-time, turn-by-turn directions via a smartphone app, GoodMaps provides
resources to passengers to enable them to navigate more confidently and with
an increased sense of independence.

 

The GoodMaps service is currently being piloted at Sound Transit's Westlake
and International District/Chinatown stations (on the 1 Line), with plans to
introduce mapping across the whole network at a future date.   

 

Please note that, during the upcoming 1 Line service disruption (planned for
Jan. 13-Feb. 4)

includes weekday platform closures at these stations, the GoodMaps app will
note that the Northgate platform is temporarily closed to prevent users from
navigating to the closed platform.
