Pierce County is growing, and Pierce Transit is planning for the future of local transit.  

On November 3, voters will decide on Proposition 1, a proposed funding measure that would maintain and improve transit service throughout the Pierce Transit service area.

Fare-free rides for seniors, the return of special event service, and more buses running more often every day of the week!

*	More places: New routes, seasonal waterfront connections and special event service. 
*	Shorter waits: More routes would run more often every day of the week and no more one-hour waits on weekdays. 
*	More connections: Better local transfers and improved connections to rail. 
*	More options: Longer hours of service, expanded SHUTTLE paratransit, and fare-free rides for seniors. 

Pierce Transit’s local sales tax rate has remained unchanged since 2002. The agency is funded at roughly half the local sales tax rate of peer transit agencies in Washington. 

Without additional funding, Pierce Transit can’t grow with our community and we can’t hold steady to maintain the current level of service, either.
