Blind Cafe
Richie will pay individuals $250.00 to be blind facilitators/servers.
Those individuals are free to donate that payment back to the chapter.
Apparently, Blind Cafe was unwilling to partner with the NFB to do these performances.
NFB chapter members are encouraged to do the Blind Cafe facilitation to get the word out about NFB philosophy.
Sarah is going to recruit individuals from this chapter and help
coordinate with the Blind Cafe team.

Thoughts about Convention from Attendees
Beth: Loved all the people with canes! Wants to start a parents of blind children affiliate. Jim checked into this, and the parents of blind children group in California has stagnated. We're going to try and have an informal POBC meeting at state convention.
Kate: Now feels proud of being blind and is no longer so self conscious about her blindness.
Sarah: Connected with old friends and connecting with musicians
Janine: 2nd convention, loved the tactile art room.
Darian: Loved contributing to the convention. Marshalling, etc. Loved breaking the Mosaic World's Record, and writing/passing a resolution
Bryan: Watching young folks get it for the first time. Finding issues that matter to them. Mercedes ... Finding new folks to volunteer/work at the lighthouse and the Enchanted Hills.
Josh: Was impacted by learning about the number of employment discrimination cases against blind folks.
Christina: Loved meeting people from all over the country. Learning about the resolutions process.
Jim: Loved mentoring for the scholarship committee.
Tim: Very skeptical about breaking the record and was totally stoked when we actually broke it. Adoption presentation. Music for Friday morning. Working on IEP issues, which was very empowering. Seeing this young man be independent, navigating around, etc
