Hey Folks,
The San Jose NFB chapter will hold their March meeting On Saturday, March 16 at 3PM at the SJ MLK Library 150 E San Fernando St, San Jose, CA 95112. This is a 3 block walk from the light rail, which connects to the caltrain.
At their March meeting, representatives from the city of San Jose will be there to talk about work they're doing on autonomous vehicle research and how the NFB may be able to participate. It would be fantastic if some of our members could go down for this meeting.
If you're interested in going, please reply here and let us know. Maybe we can get a group together to go.
Here's an email from Kevin that explains a bit more.
Take Care,
Jim Barbour - Secretary

All,
I just spoke with Jill North with the city of San Jose. For some back story, the city has partnered with Mercedes-Benz on autonomous vehicles. They are going to start a very specific pilot that will incorporate a particular route and go to Diridon Station from August through December of this year to help facilitate the connection to different transit systems at this station.
I told her we are ready, willing, excited about and able to test this technology. No PR pitches. I said we don't want that, but want to get our hands dirty, hear, see and feel the technology to figure out where the barriers are. I have invited her to our chapter meeting for March, and she excitedly accepted.
We look forward to seeing you all there. Tell your friends!
Saturday, March 16 at 3PM at the MLK Library on the SJSU campus.
