hello NFB SF friends,

One last shout out for braille storytime in case you missed it. We are volunteering on tuesday March 31st 630-8pm in Oakland reading books in braille, singing songs, and answering questions from kids 0-8yrs about blindness.
You don’t need to read braille to help out. If you are able to meet a little before the NFB meeting in March to solidify our plans that would be a good idea...

If you are interested or have questions please reply to me directly: ginnymurphy at gmail.com.
I will send out a follow up email to give more details to volunteers.

>> The idea of doing a braille story time came up in October and we were doing disability awareness month. I reached out to my connections in Oakland and found us a library that would enjoy us coming to read books in Braille. Their story time is kids ages 0 to 8 and includes a few songs in addition to the books.

>> We are also looking for Braille books with illustrations for kids if anyone has a few of these in their house please bring them to the next meeting on February 14 or March 10th or give them to Amy at the lighthouse. We could also use an additional Perkins Brailer because we were going to type the names of the children in braille.

>> Please let me know if you would like to come with us or if you have things you can contribute to our community outreach effort!
