Secretary report
* March minutes were sent out
* Motion was made by Lisa and all approved of secretary report
Treasurer Report
As a total we currently have $1400.37
* Every month ten dollars will be transferred to avoid any service
fees
* Every month ten dollars goes toward the PAC plan

* Lyft is working with NFB to help people with rides for covid shots
* Access tech affordability act HR 431 currently has 71
cosponsors/s212 15
* Please call-in support For the People Act, we are opposed to the
current version of the bill
* We Want to see accessible electronic ballots and forms to ensure
equal access for Blind Americans and others with disabilities
* There is an app called five calls a day with updated information
regarding your local representatives
* The Survivor's Task Force Code of conduct: 2 calls planned this
month. April 15, and 18 8-10

* There is a new Muslim division but it has not been posted to the
NFB website yet
* A Career Mentoring Seminar will take place on Wednesday April 14th

There will be Access Tech Trainings with the National Federation of the
Blind, <https://nfb.org/programs-services/center, is an excellence nonvisual
access training
* There will be a Webinar April 14 1 pm est. half day on web access
testing, and On April 27 at 2 pm the focus will be on Google Workspace
* Maryland is hosting our virtual
National convention on July 6-10 and Registration is open now and free
* On May 1 pledges and contributions will be accepted and they can

Legislative Announcements
* In March a bill was introduced for the people
with disabilities act t
Our NFB national president wrote a letter with two points he wanted to see
change including Ballot marking devices accessible, increase voting devices
at polling from 1 to two and all workers know how to use and offer to any
disability and also trained how to use them, and all states must make
absentee
ballots accessible with electronic return
* National guide dog users California assembly bill addresses issue
of faux service animals
Member Announcements
* Laura and LM will hold a workshop tomorrow and the 28th for Blind
parents to talk to youth about sexuality, if interested find the event on
Facebook or reach out to Laura
* Sheri will have her thirty percent and growing event to network
with employed or unemployed blind people and will have Storm hold a
meditation and yoga to keep us motivate and grounded, if interested you can

will take place from 6-8 PM
Discussion
* Lisa noticing western Michigan University shutting down relating
to covid variant and is very lucky to go out to explore, concern about her
school opening up too soon
* Jim is about to travel soon and is worried about how he will
navigate since he relies a lot on asking other travelers but will somehow
make a system
* Amy is worried about the tactile markings to stan apart from
others in public places
* Christina is ready to return to work in person, is hating having
to work from home
Lisa's lawsuit
* Lisa went through a major lawsuit with Auber relating to major
acts of discrimination relating to refusals of rides towards her guide dog
and personal assault
* She has finally settled and came out with a large settlement
* She is currently writing and article with Gary Wonder and it will
be posted on the braille Monitor
Bell Ringers
* Lisa had eye surgery, almost done with her second semester of
distance learning, and is excited to be attending a conference where Laura
will be presenting
* Jim making changes, end of April moving out of apartment and
traveling, filling out job applications, vaccinations almost done
* Laura similar to Jim with second vaccination, trip to Lisbon
planned for June, going international excited
* Rochelle and Archie had their first NFB meeting tonight
* Taryn made it through her first two days of teaching technology at
OCB Albany on her own
Lisa made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Amy seconded, and all approved
