*1. TRX Training Day joint event with Voyagers and adults!*
Physical fitness or education is often a scary term for students with
vision loss. Often it means being soloed out to do something alone, like
walking the track while the other students play basketball, or trying to
blend in with the group during kick ball and hoping the ball doesn’t hit
them in the head. Voyagers are here to teach you a fun and fully accessible
way of exercising through TRX Training! Join our Fitness workshop as we
learn from Walt Raineri, an avid blind sports athlete, on how to strengthen
our bodies using fun, simple, and customizable movements. This full body
workout is adjustable to your student’s abilities with options for
difficulty and type of movements.
This workshop will include a healthy lunch with adult Vista Center clients.
It is so fun to meet other children, families, and adults who are within
our vision community and learn new skills together!
Who: Children with vision loss ages 12 - 22
Date: October 2nd, 11:30 - 12:30pm lunch & 12:30 - 2pm workshop
Location: This is an in person event at Vista Center, San Jose
RSVP: by September 22 to Bethany Small at bsmall at vistacenter.org
Whether beginning a fitness journey or pushing toward your summit, TRX®
Training helps you move better, feel better, and live better, whenever and
wherever you might be. Simple to use, easy to set up, light to carry, very
compact, the TRX® HOME2 suspension training system creates independent
quick to learn full body workout opportunities for everyone, no matter
where you are on your fitness spectrum.

*Vista Voyagers Kayaking Trip*
Just a few spots left!
Join the Voyagers on an overnight kayak adventure to Angel Island, the
jewel of San Francisco Bay. This one-night getaway is packed with fun
learning opportunities for your student to develop independence, learn a
new accessible physical activity, and form lasting friendships. During the
trip, Voyagers will learn the basics of kayaking, paddle to Angel Island,
hike and explore the islands, and camp within historic Civil War buildings.
The next day, we’ll enjoy a morning paddle back to Sausalito to close our
most popular Fall event. This trip is great for novice to advanced paddlers
of varying abilities and backgrounds, and all students will be paired with
sighted guides. We will partner with the fabulous Environmental Travel
Companions who will provide experienced guides and camping equipment.
Complete safety and health protocols will be followed. Don’t miss this
one-of-a-kind Voyager adventure! Feel free to contact Bethany with specific
questions.
Who: Students with visual impairments ages 14 - 22
When: Saturday, October 16 - Sunday, October 17
Where: Meet at Vista Center, transportation will be provided to SF
RSVP: October 1st to Bethany Small bsmall at vistacenter.org

*Free Backpacks and School Supplies!*
Now that school is in session, you might need supplies. Vista Center has
you covered with backpacks containing a notebook, pencil and/or
highlighter! Thanks to Amazon and their team for providing them. If you
