Secretary’s Report: March’s minutes were approved 

 

Treasurer’s Report: Current balance 661.60 and 120 in Vemo. Treasurer’s Report was approved. 

 

Presidential Release Recap:

National Convention is July 5th to 11th

Two hotels just across the street from each other

Look for code NFB convention when booking a room

Essence fest is just before convention so it may be hard to get convention block rooms the days before convention. Adding on days to the end should be no problem.

Jernigan Fund and NAGDU are both funding sources for convention

NAGDU deadline is May 31st

Legislative Updates

In March the DOJ gave guidance that websites are covered by the ADA.

15 new consponsor to ATAA. Total of 151 in House and 37 in Senate

Medical Device Non-visual accessibility act has added 11 for a total of 47 in the house

TIME added 5 consponsors for a total of 45 in the House

 

Announcements:

State Convention will likely be in San diago in person with some hybrid elements

Be thinking of fundraisers and auction baskets

 

NFB Youth Programs are accepting applicationsBELL, BUDDY, and STEP

In Person Meetings

August 9th in person meeting at the Lighthouse in SF at 1155 Market Street

Potential Meetings at Lighthouse East Bay in Berkeley at the Ed Roberts Campus

Some people are in favor, others have concerns due to poor BART transfers.

It was suggested that potentially the meetings could alternate between the two
