Saturday, October 18th - NFB San Francisco Chapter Social
Celebrating Blind Equality Achievement Month!
October is Blind Equality Achievement Month - a time to celebrate the
achievements of blind people and raise awareness about blindness. And
awareness is sometimes raised simply by showing up! Simply by living your
life! Simply by having a good time in community with other blind and low
vision friends.
As the National Federation of the Blind says: "Blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. You can live the life you
want." Members of our chapter work hard all year advocating, educating, and
doing the work of the Federation. Now it's time to have some fun!
We're heading out for dinner and improv comedy, and the theme for the night
is... Your Fucked Up Relationship! You heard that right - come volunteer
your wild breakup stories at the door and watch them turn into comedy gold
on stage!
ABOUT THE SHOW:
Endgames Improv Theater offers headsets for audio description, which we
really appreciate. But we wanted to experience this show together as a
community, so we asked if they'd do live audio description for our group
and they said yes! Expect your cringe-worthy ex stories to transform into
hilarious, over-the-top scenes - maybe your bad date becomes a soap opera,
or your ghosting saga turns into a sci-fi epic! Their troop has been
working hard and having fun to make this happen. Let's show up big to
support a theater that's making comedy inclusive and unforgettable for our
community.
WHY YOU SHOULD COME:
   - Laugh together at outrageous relationship stories turned into improv
   scenes
   - Experience theater as a community, not through individual headsets
   - Enjoy great food and conversation before the show
   - Celebrate all our hard work with a well-deserved fun night out
   - Support a theater that's making their shows accessible
   - Maybe share your own wild breakup story and see it performed live (we
   promise to cheer you on!)
   - Meet new friends and hang out with familiar faces in a relaxed,
   no-pressure setting
