   Secretary’s Report – The August meeting minutes completed by Bobbi
   Pompey were approved.

   Treasurer’s Report – The current balance is $1002.91
   -

   Dues and donations can be paid/made utilizing the following information:
   -

      If using PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle: Sara Hadsell, 510-387-0766,

      purchasing an item. This will avoid

      undesired fees. This option may only be available when utilizing

   Legislative & Advocacy Report – Christina Daniels
   -

      NFB national is urging the house appropriations committee to maintain
      funding for services such as the national library service,
special ed, and
      rehab programs. Contact your representative and Robert Aderholt.
      -

      Contact representatives to push for passing of the Connect for Health
      Act which maintains expanded telehealth services.



   -

   Presidential Release Recap – Christina Daniels
   -

      President Riccobono and other NFB officials attended the World Blind
      Union summit in Brazil where they discussed blind movements and their
      progress around the world. Riccobono was elected president of the North
      America and Caribbean region for the World Blind Union.

      October is blind equality achievement month
      -

      NFB is having a virtual career fair on Oct 28, more info at
      nfb.org/employment RSVP by Oct 14

      NFB Coast to coast movement challenge:
      -

         Chesapeake bay 10k walk/run on Nov 7
         -

         California international marathon in Sacramento on Dec 7
         -

         Sacramento chapter is organizing a cheering squad 7-10am
         -

         Zoom meeting at Sept 16
         -

Chapter Business

   -

   Outreach & Education Committee Recap and Announcements
   -

      Outreach committee meetings are on the third Tuesday of every month
      from 6 to 7pm on Zoom. The next meeting is on Sept 16, followed
by a social
      call from 7 to 8pm.
      -

      Blind Cricket Social on Sept 20 at 12pm in the park on Hearst & McGee
      in Berkeley. There will be a picnic and a sandwich order from Togo’s.
      -

      Improv Comedy Show on Oct 18 at 9pm in San Francisco at End Game.
      -

      The chapter was polled on doing a group friendsgiving or keeping it
      within the chapter. The consensus was to open it to the
community and host
      it at the East Bay Center for the Blind.

   Next chapter meeting: October 14, 2025
   -

      The chapter decided to host students from San Francisco State
      University as part of meet the blind month during the Oct 14 meeting.
      Students who are looking to become TVIs and O&M instructors will
be joining
      the discussion and interacting with NFB members.

      Our discussion was about accessible sports, games, and activities
      which included a wide variety from judo to goalball and many
